Dining Onboard Viking River Cruises
Viking River Cruises dining options are focused on a singular restaurant with additional al fresco offerings throughout the day. Expert chefs take pride in preparing delightfully flavorful cuisine to highlight your journey including regional specialties prepared with fresh local ingredients as well as familiar favorites. Wait staff happily anticipates your needs and readily provides personalized service. Open seating ensures you can dine with the group of your choice or mingle with fellow guests if you so desire.
More casual meals are available throughout the day on the Sun Deck or the outdoor Aquavit Terrace and al fresco dining is generally offered on the bow of your Viking River Cruises ship. The 'Taste Of' events offered during your journey will give you a taste of current or upcoming destinations to bring you into your new world, experiencing local cuisine at the hands of extremely talented chefs.
Aquavit Terrace
The spectacular views from the ship's bow are enhanced by exceptional fare. Although casual, the overall dining experience will leave you breathless. While a lovely outdoor al fresco venue, in inclement weather, the retractable roof is closed providing you with all of the incredible vistas you came for combined with a controlled environment.
Sun Deck
Take your meals to go from the Aquavit Terrace and head on up to the Sun Deck. From time to time, weather permitting, you may also enjoy a barbeque up in this comfortable and relaxed environment.
If, for breakfast, you wish to simply grab a quick bite and go the lounge provides coffee and pastries. In addition, the self-service coffee and tea stations offer mini pastries and cookies throughout the day.
Restaurant
This contemporary and stylish dining room is the primary space for enjoying meals. A breakfast buffet is an upscale event on Viking River Cruises. Whether you prefer an on the spot omelet with bacon and sausage, pancakes, cereals, breads and pastries or fish and cheeses you will enjoy the perfect beginning to a memorable day.
The lunch buffet includes soups, self made salads and action stations. Lunchtime also includes a menu of hot entrees chicken Caesar wraps, deli sandwiches and such.
Dinner is an open seating, multi course, wait staff serviced, fête including amuse bouche, soups, main course and decadent desserts. If your desires for dining lean more towards familiar continental standards, you'll find chicken, steak and fish always available. Complimentary wine and beer is served with lunch and dinner onboard.
